Star-Lord's father was the evil ruler of Spartax, J'Son, and his mother died of cancer while he was at a young age. He was born in the 1980s on Earth, and loved the music from that age. He became a Robin Hood-type cosmic character, first working for the interstellar thief Yondu when taken from Earth, and later leading the Guardians of the Galaxy.
