A contemporary story about finding your fortune in the world of West Texas oil rigs.. Watch writer/director Taylor Sheridan’s most popular films and TV series on IMDb, ranked by user rating.. A landowner, at least one who works in the oil industry , will act as intermediary between geological exploration companies and landowners. Usually, a landowner’s job is to negotiate and enter into contracts with landowners who have mineral rights to lease those rights to the company they represent. In essence, they manage the land and secure the lease so they can drill for oil and gas. As a foreman on a construction site, they build roads, living quarters for workers (a camp for people), supervise the assembly of earthmoving equipment and the drilling of the well itself, especially in remote areas. They are also partially recognized as a fixer, problem solver, and mediator.. Featured in CBS News Sunday Morning: Episode #44.24 (2022). It would be easy to rate it at 8.5 – 9. If it weren’t for the nasty sexualized daughter and ex-wife/mother. They serve no purpose to the plot and are just plain annoying and insulting to the women of West Texas. I’m from far West Texas myself, so I understand where Sheridan is coming from in a way, but it’s horrible. West Texas women are the strongest, most ambitious women I know. Now, in addition to this, the script and acting are amazing. Sheridan could easily have another Yellowstone on his hands, if he gets rid of a very uncomfortable intermarital lust. But again, I like Sheridan’s script a bit (and the acting) and it’s a very enjoyable show, for the most part.
